Environmental pollutants

Many pollutants reach the water cycle and create a high risk for water resources and the environment that is difficult to assess. Reference tracers that are not harmful to the environment permit to assess the potential danger of substances and to identify possibilities for risk reduction. Several fluorescent tracers currently serve as a reference for pesticides in respect to sorption, photodecomposition and biodegradation in artificial wetlands. Different types of wetlands are compared and their efficiency maximized. This provides the opportunity to combine flood protection and ecological retardation of pesticides.
