Urban hydrology
In the past hydrological research did not focus on processes in urban areas. However, due to the advent of low impact development and the goal that towns should have a natural water balance, hydrological methods and models become more and more relevant to understand urban hydrology and make prediction for sustainable urban development. We carried out a variety of experiments and installed a variety of instrument to observe the complex water flows and storage in urban areas. The collected data has been used to further develop hydrological models for urban areas with a very high temporal and spatial resolution.
